Project statement

Motion as
composition

In Intentional Camera Movement, the camera is deliberately moved during the exposure, transforming motion from a technical disturbance into the central element of the image.

As points of light travel across the film, recognisable forms dissolve into streaks, textures and layered tonal fields. Trees and fragments of landscape remain present, yet their physical contours give way to rhythm, direction and duration.

The project approaches photography as an act of interpretation rather than description. Its visual language is connected to the perceptual freedom of Impressionism and to a long history of photographic experimentation in which movement challenges the apparent stillness of the medium.

Technical definitions remain deliberately open: each gesture produces a different relationship between the camera, the subject and the length of the exposure. The resulting images occupy a fluid territory between landscape, abstraction and the trace of a performed movement.
